Reform of the pension system in France. Challenges of French Constitutionalism and Fundamental Rights

Constitutional culture and the guarantee of Human Rights in societies are essential for the democratic support of States.

Currently, strong tensions are experienced in the Republic of France due to the reform project of the pension bill where there are great strikes against the proposal, situations that French constitutionalism and constitutional justice are called to attend, as well as the analysis of the right to protest in law Constitutional and International Human Rights Law.

We will talk with Professors Xavier Philippe and Carlos Ayala about these current issues:

  • Xavier Philippe is the Director of the Master of Comparative Constitutional Law and the Department of Constitutional Law and Fundamental Rights of the Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne university.
  • Carlos Ayala is the vice-president of the International Commission of Jurists, he has been a member of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, Professor of Constitutional Law and Human Rights at the Universidad Andrés Bello Catholic University (UCAB), Universidad Central de Venezuela (UCV ), Georgetown University, American University, Oxford University, among others.
